Celebrating 50 Years of Photography Excellence
BWC Printmakers has stood as a beacon of quality and craftsmanship in the photography industry. What began as a specialized black and white lab has evolved into a comprehensive print studio serving professional photographers, artists, organizations, and individuals who demand nothing less than excellence.
Our Story
When Lou George and Walt Huckabee started BWC as a black and white lab in 1975, many considered the medium obsolete. While color was just entering the mainstream, publications still relied heavily on black and white. By focusing on quality in a neglected space, BWC quickly established itself as the premier lab for photographers.
As photography evolved, so did BWC. While the company built its early reputation on E6 film processing, BWC has fully embraced digital technology, becoming a leader in cutting-edge photographic printing and services. This forward-thinking approach has attracted the industry’s most discerning photographers who value both technical precision and artistic vision.
Today, BWC leverages advanced digital technologies and sophisticated color management systems to deliver exceptional quality across all products. The company’s facility in Richardson, Texas combines powerful digital workflows with deep expertise in printing techniques. Every image receives meticulous attention from skilled technicians who understand both the technical and artistic elements of fine photography.
BWC takes the time to understand exactly how each client wants their prints to look. The company guarantees work 100%, providing services with the confidence that comes from five decades of excellence.
